School Lunch Packing Tips

Back to school time is right around the corner and in my house, that means lots of school lunches that need to be packed. With 3 children, coming up with yummy lunch ideas that everyone will be happy with 5 days a week can be difficult. The kids, of course, want something tasty and cool, while I need to make sure it’s nutritious and filling enough to nourish them throughout the rest of their school day and keep them on top of their learning game.

We love grabbing some great sectioned out meal containers for the school year so that I can pack a variety of finger food type items each day. The kids like having so many options in their lunch box and I am glad they are having a more nutritious meal than the typical sandwich in a baggy.

To make packing these containers quick and easy every morning, I stock up on healthy snack options every week and have them ready to go for each morning. Fruits and veggies that need to be washed and cut are done on Sunday night and stored throughout the week, while dips, bread, and other grab and go healthy snacks such as Mariani Probiotic Pitted Prunes are lined up next to the fridge. This makes for a streamlined grab, toss, and go morning packing routine.

Reasons We Love Mariani Probiotic Pitted Prunes

Probiotic Prunes from Mariani are made using California grown prunes!

Mariani prunes are prebiotic, which the probiotic needs to feed off of. Prunes also have additional vitamins that are great for your health & wellness.

The Ganeden BC30 probiotic in Mariani Probiotic Prunes is unique. They are designed by nature to survive and thrive in conditions other probiotics cannot. By surviving, Ganeden BC30 delivers active probiotics ten times more effective than the probiotics in yogurt.

They are a healthy on the go snack choice that contains Vitamins A, E, B6, B12, and Iron!

Are a great source of fiber, helping reduce abdominal pain and bloating while moving food through the digestive tract.

5 Tips for Making Lunch Boxes More Fun

Leave A Note!  Leave a cute note telling your child how much you love them or write up a funny joke to make them smile during lunch time.

Use Cookie Cutters on the Sandwiches!  Sandwiches are a staple in a lot of lunch boxes, make this simple lunch into a cool treat with large cookie cutters.  My daughter loves all her sandwiches cut into heart shapes.

Decorate the Snack Bags!  Using simple plastic baggies for snacks?  Make them extra fun with some wiggly eyes and glitter glue!  It only takes a few minutes to decorate a bunch on Sunday night and have them ready to go for the week ahead.

Include a Little Treat or Trinket Once in a While!  When the kids are having a really good week, or get a great grade, I like to put a small surprise in their lunch box.  Stickers, yo-yo’s, Silly Putty, etc. all make for perfect treats.

Get Cool Food Picks or Make Foods into Pops!  Packing a bunch of small finger foods?  Pack some fun food pics to eat with or create some adorable pops out of the fruit or sandwiches.
