You can’t see, but I’ve got both of my hands up in the air! My excitement is what inspired my latest dessert: Pokéball Inspired Cereal Treats.
My Pokéball Inspired Cereal Treats will get every Pokemon fanatic going! They’re so easy to whip up. I just love how red the top portion came out! I can almost picture Pikachu coming out of it, ready to electrocute and win his next battle!

Pokeball Treats Pokemon Themed Recipe
Rice Cereal Treat Pokeball Ingredients
2 tbsp butter, divided
2 cups mini marshmallows, divided
3 cups of rice cereal, divided
½ tsp red gel food coloring
Red decorating frosting
3-4 oz. black fondant
1-2 oz. white fondant
Yields: approx. 10 rice cereal treats
How to Make Pokeball Rice Cereal Treats
Start by lining a baking sheet with wax paper and set it aside. Then, In one medium-sized saucepan, melt 1 tbsp butter over medium-high heat.
Once the butter is melted pour 1 cup of mini marshmallows into the buttered saucepan and stir until melted and remove the saucepan from heat.
Next, fold in 1 ½ cups rice cereal and stir until all ingredients are well combined.
Roll mixture into 2-inch spheres – you will need 5 of them. Place gently on the lined baking sheet.
Next, In a clean, medium-sized saucepan repeat the same steps with your remaining butter, marshmallows.
Once you remove the saucepan from the heat, add red gel food coloring and mix until completely tinted and fold in remaining rice cereal.
Roll into 2-inch spheres – again, you will need 5. Place gently on the lined baking sheet and allow to set for at least 15 minutes.
After the balls are rolled, it is time to cut each sphere in half using a serrated knife.
Once the Pokeballs are cut in half, it is time to assemble. First, frost the top of each white rice cereal treat portion and place a red portion on top.
Next, it is time to decorate the Pokeballs by decorating them with fondant. Roll out black fondant so that it’s about ¼ of an inch thick.
Use a paring knife to cut out 10 strips – about 1/3 of an inch in thickness and 7 inches long.
Wrap one strip around the center of each Pokeball.
Use the bottom end of a Wilton icing tip to cut out 10 black fondant circles.
Place one fondant circle on the strip of the Pokeball.
Roll out white fondant so that it’s about ¼ of an inch thick.
Use the bottom end of the same icing tip to cut out 10 white fondant circles.
Stick white fondant circle on the black fondant circle.
(Hint: usually the fondant is sticky enough to hold on its own but if not, you may use your decorating frosting to secure).
