Step by Step Instructions to Make a Clay Pot Pumpkin, Bat, and Frankenstein
STEP ONE
Start by gathering all your supplies and remove the stickers from the bottom of clay pots and saucer.
STEP TWO
Next, basecoat the clay pots with acrylic craft paint and let dry. Once dry, apply a second coat if necessary. Four-inch Pumpkin pot is orange, the three-inch Frankenstein pot is green and black, and the two-inch Bat pot is black.
STEP THREE
After painting the pots, basecoat the wooden spools. The large spool is brown for the pumpkin stem, and the two small spools are grey for Frankenstein’s face. Let them dry completely and apply a second coat, if necessary.
TIP: Place spool on a paintbrush handle so all the surfaces can be painted at once.
STEP FOUR
After everything is painted it is time to make the foam accents of each character. Cut a leaf shape from green craft foam for the Pumpkin Pot, Cut a small rectangle from black craft foam for Frank’s unibrow, and cut two bat wings and two small triangles for ears from black craft foam for the Bat Pot.
Use a pencil to draw shapes on foam prior to cutting.
STEP FIVE
Next, use your glue gun and glue sticks to attach all the felt features, pipe cleaner, wooden spools, and wiggle eyes to each clay pot. Use photo for placement.
STEP SIX
Lastly, add details on Jack and Frank with a black permanent marker and add details on Bat with a white gel pen.
Now fill these spooktacular friends with your favorite Halloween candy and create a fun gift or party favor for a classmate, co-worker or neighbor!
Happy Halloween!
