Epcot Food and Wine Festival 2019 Introduction and Guide

There is no better time to visit Epcot than during the Epcot Food and Wine Festival!  The entire Disney Park is packed with incredible food options from around the world and the entertainment is unforgettable.  During our trips this year we met 98 Degrees, Joey Fatone, Ryan Cabrera, and more, all while enjoying our day at Disney!  When you begin your Disney World Vacation Planning, consider the Food and Wine Festival dates and make sure you check out the concert line-up.

Epcot Food and Wine Festival is one of the largest draws at Walt Disney World right now. It’s the most popular Epcot festival of the year, and all of the favorites are back in 2019. If you are traveling to Walt Disney World between now and November 23 you should set aside an extra day for Epcot, just to experience the Festival, You may even want to buy the multi-day Park Hopper option, so you can drop in on multiple days for some of the scheduled pairings, demos, and seminars planned in the World Showplace Pavilion.

For those looking forward to the Epcot Food and Wine Festival, you can easily make it a focus with two full days at Epcot. You can even use additional days to share with Hollywood Studios or the Magic Kingdom. Keep in mind how huge Epcot is, and there are more than 15 pavilions to explore. Special events and tours like DestiNations Discovered, the Aqua Tour, and Behind the Seeds Tour are also worth doing. As you approach the various aspects of the Epcot Food and Wine Festival, try not to rush, and plan your itinerary in a way that gives you plenty of time to enjoy this particular park, even as it drastically transitions for the future.

Future World

Start with what will soon be known as World Nature and World Celebration. Excuse the construction walls and take in some of the festival fun offered in The Land Pavilion in Future World West. They have candy sushi making for all ages as well as The Chocolate Experience walkthrough sponsored by Ghirardelli. The walkthrough is a simple breakdown of the journey of chocolate from bean to bar, and you get free samples, plus a chance to buy some chocolate, including sipping chocolate. But before you do that, you should pick up a Festival Passport at the main entrance.

The Land Pavilion

The Land Pavilion is an excellent starting point for the Epcot Food and Wine Festival because the global Marketplaces– even the ones in Future World– don’t open until 11:00. You can have a seat in Sunshine Seasons and plan out what food booths you would most like to visit. If you reserve the 10:30 Behind the Seeds walking tour, be aware that it will take an hour and you should check in around 10:15.

Festival Food and Beverages in Future World

After the Land Pavilion, there are two groups of food booths nearby. The Eats are located near the Light Lab between the Imagination Pavilion and the main thoroughfare to World Showcase. They include Coastal Eats, Active Eats, Earth Eats, and Flavors From Fire. The Studios are lined up along a path toward the Canada Pavilion. These include the Chocolate Studio, the Cheese Studio, and the Wine and Dine Studio.

In Future World East, you will find Taste Track near Test Track. There you will find some popular festival items. The Odyssey will house a microbrew selection and a preview of the transformation of Epcot.

World Showcase

When the World Showcase opens at 11:00 is when the global marketplaces in Future World and World Showcase open. The World Showcase consists of 32 food and wine shops, including global marketplaces and regular counter service with festival offerings. The World Showplace Pavilion between the Canada and UK pavilions is the official event center. That is where you will find the cooking demos, tasting and pairing seminars, and Party for the Senses on select Saturday nights throughout the festival. Party For the Senses is a wine and dine event with live music and two seating options ranging from $229-$359 plus tax per guest. For 2019 ESPN has a new Monday Night Football tailgate tasting on Sundays.

The Eat to the Beat concert series takes place nightly on the outdoor stage at the America Pavilion and is free to park guests. However, you can secure seating in the theater with a dining package purchased at participating Epcot table service restaurants. The Mexico, Italy, Japan, Morocco, and France pavilions also host unique pairing events presented buy culinary masters in select table service restaurants.
