How to Love Your Mornings
Some people are naturally “morning people,” but that’s not the case for the majority of us. However, you could argue that it’s not really the morning that we dislike, but rather how we spend the morning that we have an issue with. It’s hard to love a period of the day when you always feel rushed, you have to commute to work, and so on. Left to its own devices, mornings can be a little soul-destroying.
But those who take control of their mornings and steer it in the right direction will find that there is, in fact, plenty to love about the start of the day. Here’s how you do it.

Sleep Well
It might not be that you hate mornings. The issue could simply be that you’re tired. It’s difficult to face the day when you wish you could spend several more hours in bed. Working to improve your sleeping routine can have a big payoff, helping you wake up refreshed, energized, and ready to get going.
Look at going to bed at the same time each day, putting together a sleep-friendly bedroom, and avoiding alcohol and screens in the period before you hit the hay.
Get Up Early
It’s hard to enjoy life when you’re stressed — and it’s hard not to be stressed if you’re frantically running around so you can leave the house on time for work. Getting up earlier than usual might sound sacrilegious to people who love being in bed, but it can be worthwhile. By giving yourself an extra forty-five minutes or so, you’ll have the time to take the morning at your own pace, enjoying a little bit of “me time” before you head out the front door and become a part of society. Plus, it’ll give you time to prepare a delicious breakfast, and talking of which….
Have a Delicious Breakfast
Is there a faster pathway towards happiness than delicious food and drink? Not in our book. The problem is that most people put together breakfasts with an emphasis on speed and convenience, not taste. If you’re looking to make your mornings more enjoyable, then look up a few easy-to-make, tasty breakfast recipes. Add in a delicious drink, such as fresh orange juice, a strawberry and banana smoothie, or the best blueberry coffee on the market, and you’ll have got your day off to the right start. Plus, a great breakfast won’t just be a treat for your lips — it’ll also give you the energy you need to get through the day.
Calm Activities
The outside world can be a little frantic. One way to ensure you can navigate society without feeling stressed is to spend your mornings doing calm activities, such as yoga, meditation, or breathwork. These activities can help to put you in a position of serenity and balance, which helps to make the day easier to manage. You don’t need all that much time to do any of these activities, either — there are plenty of fifteen-minute tutorials available on YouTube.
