Tips For A Perfect Pool Party

There’s nothing quite like a pool party to celebrate sunny weather and to have fun with friends and family, and if you’ve decided you want to host a pool party when the weather is good, you might be tempted just to call the people you want and ask them over. But the fact is that although that can be a fun day together, if you want to really have a good time, there are some things you need to get ready in advance. With that in mind, here are some great tips for a perfect pool party; read on to find out more.

Get The Pool In Good Condition

Before you even think about sending out invitations, your pool definitely needs to be ready for people to use it – that’s the point of a pool party after all; without the pool, you might as well just arrange a barbecue (which is great, but less fun if people are expecting to be able to swim).

The first thing to do is schedule professional pool cleaning a few days before the event so the water is fresh and treated and there aren’t any pieces of debris in the bottom of the pool. On the morning of the party, you’ll need to skim away any leaves and bugs, but if the main pool cleaning has already been done by the experts, that’s the only job that will be left, and it won’t take much time.

Decorate

Pool parties are all about having a relaxed, fun atmosphere, and adding some decorations can be the thing that helps with that. One great idea for a pool party is to stock up on colorful inflatables that people can play with – and that means adults as well as children. People love splashing around in the water, and if there are toys to play with, it makes it much easier to do.

If your party is going to go on into the evening, then having some nice lanterns or string lights around is also wise – that’s going to create an inviting atmosphere but it also makes things safer, and safety is crucial when it comes to a pool party. And don’t forget to make sure you’ve got plenty of towels available for your guests. True, they may well bring their own, but having a stack of soft, fluffy, clean towels they can use if they need to is a nice touch.

Serve Drinks And Snacks

If there’s one thing a host always has to do at a party, no matter what kind of party it might be, it’s serve drinks and snacks, so make sure you’ve got plenty of hand to keep everyone fed and watered and happy. When it comes to drinks, it’s best to set up a self-service station with things like water, punch, iced tea, homemade lemonade, and so on, and also include a cooler for beer, wine, and soft drinks so people can just take what they want when they want; that’s going to save you a lot of time as you won’t have to keep making sure people have a drink.
As for the food, make sure it’s easy to eat, and it should ideally be finger food. The food should also be light and refreshing as no one’s going to want to swim and play in the water after a heavy meal, and they might even decide to go home early, which wouldn’t be ideal! Fresh fruit, chips and salsa, and crisp vegetables with a nice dip are great options.
