5 Summer Camp Packing Tips that Parents Should Know

Next, make a list of what you need for each day and take inventory of what you have and what you may need to purchase before heading to camp. Knowing what activities your child will be participating in will help you know if they will need extra outfits on certain days, or swimming supplies and themed accessories.

Pack outfits in individual bags or packing cubes

Getting ready in the morning and for bed can be a bit chaotic in a cabin full of kids, so preselecting outfits and putting them in a packing cube with everything they will need from socks to scrunchies for the day will help make getting ready quicker and help prevent everything in your child’s duffle bag from being pulled out all over the cabin.

Create a shower caddy and a camp backpack

Like with the packing cubes, keeping items that are needed at the same time together is key. A shower caddy that has all their toiletries in it will keep everything together and prevent forgetting things in the bathroom. Likewise creating a small backpack for your child to bring out to activities each morning will help keep everything they need close by like bug spray, sunblock, and a refillable water bottle.
