Signs that your Home is A Target for Criminals
If you’re concerned that your home may be a target for burglars, then you need to do something about this sooner rather than later. Broken Locks
Check your home to make sure that your locks aren’t broken and that your outdoor lights are working as they should. If your home has locks that are broken, or if you notice that some of your locks have been tampered with then this is a big sign that your home is going to attract criminals. If you can, you need to replace your door locks as soon as possible. Typically, burglars will always return to a job if they have had to stop it prematurely, or if they weren’t able to gain access to the property the first time around, so try and keep this in mind. Another thing burglars will often do is damage the outside lights so they can remain inconspicuous. As a result, you may find that your wiring ends up being cut or that the structure itself is broken. If this is the case, then you need to try and make sure that you get some CCTV setup, or that you keep an eye on the people who may be visiting your home. If you believe that your home has been marked, then you need to try and contact the police while taking steps to look into extra bolts or chains for your home. Upgrading your home’s security system is also a good thing to do.
If you have a garage door, then making sure that it shuts and locks properly is also a good idea, as this can be an entry point to your home. You can easily hire a garage door repair service, if you feel as though your garage door is not as secure as it could be, especially if you have an expensive car.

Unfamiliar Vehicles
Do you notice that there are some unfamiliar vehicles parked near your home? If so, then now is probably a good time for you to be dealing with that. While on a lot of occasions, it may be that there is a construction worker nearby, or even family visiting, it can also be a sign that someone is waiting to target your home. If you want to help yourself here, then you need to make sure that you check with your neighbors, as they can help you to identify the person in question, and they can also help you to make sure that your home is not being targeted. If you want to help yourself here, then it’s a good idea for you to try and move any ladders that might be outside your home, too. If you have a ladder outside your home, then this will give burglars the chance to enter your home with ease, which is the last thing you need, as it may even void your insurance policy.
