Marriott Downtown a Family Friendly Hotel in New York City

During our last family trip to New York City, we stayed at the Marriott Downtown New York.  The rooms where standard size, which is considered large when talking about an NYC budget-friendly hotel!
Everything was very clean and modern, the lobby was beautiful and offered an on-site restaurant, Starbucks, and store.

Best of all we were close to so many attractions and landmarks, making it easy to get around with 3 kids. The Marriott Downtown is located directly across from the 9/11 memorial, a few blocks from Battery Park and the Statue of Liberty, and a $5-$10 taxi ride to Central Park, Times Square, and Rockefeller Center.

Family Fun in New York City Close to the Marriott Downtown New York

Anthony loved NYC, we had to explain to him a dozen times why we had to leave and when we could come back.  He kept telling me he was going to live there when he grows up, he’s my city boy who loves the museums and site seeing.

Lilly, on the other hand, had fun but wasn’t thrilled with all the walking, she’s more of a pool and beach vacation girl.  However, she was obsessed with the candy shop, Dylan’s Candy Bar.  She would go back to NYC in an instant to go shopping at Dylan’s Candy Bar again.

While planning our first trip to New York City, I was concerned about how Aidan would do with the crowds, loud noises, and all the sightseeing, however, I was thrilled at how good he did.  He had his ups and downs but nothing unmanageable and he got to experience some great activities like Central Park Zoo and the carousel at Bryant Park which he loved.

Anthony wants to go back soon, I’m thinking of planning a trip with just him for next summer.  I would love the mother/son bonding time, without the stress of worrying about the little ones.  I think he really deserves the time too since so much of our daily lives have to revolve around Aidan’s needs.
