Did you know 42 million people are fighting hunger today in America?  That number is astonishing and heartbreaking to me!  Plus, adding to the need of citizens in our country, we have had a rough year for so many due to natural disasters.  Between Hurricane Harvey and Irma, and the wildfires in California, there are a lot of people displaced and in need.  We all need to step up and help our neighbors, and T-Mobile is making it easy to do this holiday season!

On the heels of #GivingTuesday, when the un-carrier T-Mobile put customers, employees, and fans in charge of giving away up to $2 million to charity, they have announced the T-Mobile #GivingTwogether Phone Drive.

T-Mobile #GivingTwogether Phone Drive.

Did you know that old phone or tablet that is at the bottom of your junk drawer or under your child’s bed can do a lot of good this holiday season?

Recycle it at a T-Mobile store, and the Un-carrier will double your impact by matching the recycled value of your devices and donating it evenly to both Feeding America and Team Rubicon!

According to recent EPA estimates, more than 135 million cell phones are trashed each year.  Think about it, with the New Year and Spring Cleaning coming up are your old devices likely to be part of this statistic?

My family’s old devices might have, but now I get to do something good with them!   Instead of letting your old phones and tablets sit in a drawer, or worse a landfill hand that phone in at a T-Mobile #GivingTwogether Phone Drive location!

Gather up as many unused devices as you can find, even your old flip phone could net more than 600 meals to people in need or help buy critical equipment for a disaster relief strike team member.  Here’s your chance to make two times the difference, while decluttering your home!

Where the Funds are Getting Donated

Feeding America is the largest hunger-relief organization in the United States with a network of 200 food banks and 60,000 partner food pantries and meal programs that collectively provide food to more than 46 million people across the country.

Team Rubicon offers veterans a chance to continue their service by uniting their skills and experience with first responders, medical professionals, and technology solutions to rapidly deploy emergency response teams to areas affected by natural disasters.

How It Works

From December 1st to 31st, recycle any old phones or tablets you have at your local T-Mobile store, and T-Mobile will match the recycled value of your devices, after costs, and will donate it all to Feeding America and Team Rubicon

It is easy, just stop by any participating T-Mobile store and drop off any mobile phone or tablet, all phones and tablets are eligible for the program, even old or broken devices are worth roughly $30 on average, and there are no limits to the number of devices you can recycle.

Plus anyone can participate, you don’t have to be a T-Mobile customer.  So make sure you spread the word on social media using the hashtag #GivingTwogether and let everyone know how they easy it is to donate to an amazing cause this holiday season!
