Luxury Features To Consider Adding In Your Backyard

Is it time you invested in a few luxurious touches for your backyard? Below are just a few luxurious features that could be worth looking into to turn your backyard into a private paradise.

Hot tub

Many of us dream of being able to relax in a hot tub at the end of a hard day. They can be used all year round and can be covered up when not in use to prevent debris from getting into them. They’re also available in an array of different price ranges. Inflatable hot tubs are the most affordable option – with many models costing under $500. Hard shell hot tubs are more expensive and in-ground tubs cost the most. It’s worth comparing different models to find the best one.

Pool

Swimming pools are a highly sought out backyard luxury feature. There are many styles of pool to choose from – and the best type of pool will likely depend on your budget and lifestyle. Above-ground pools are cheaper than in-ground pools, but come in more limited shapes and sizes. Those with kids may want to consider a shallower pool with fun features like a slide and possibly heating. Those who want a pool to practise lengths or simply cool off in the summer may prefer a more basic pool. When investing in a pool, make sure to understand the maintenance requirements  – it could be important to shop at a pool supply store to get all the right equipment. Alternatively, you can hire someone to handle pool maintenance for you.

Bar

You could also consider building your own private backyard bar. This could be a basic tiki bar, or a more elaborate bar shed with indoor space, heating and electricity. Having electricity could allow you to consider features like a TV and refrigerators for cold drinks. If you’ve got enough space, you could even consider adding a pool table or a jukebox. It all depends on what your perfect style of bar looks like. Check out some of these outdoor bar ideas for inspiration.

Sauna

A sauna could be another luxury feature to consider for those that live in colder regions of the country. There are sauna kits that you can buy to build your own sauna. Alternatively, you may be able to convert a shed into a sauna. You could even create your own mini spa building with a sauna and hot tub in it. Decide whether to choose a traditional steam sauna or an infrared heated sauna (the latter could be less work to maintain).

Fire pit

Fire pits can recreate the coziness of huddling around a campfire in your backyard. This could take the form of a simple metal dish or a portable chiminea – or you could build your own custom brick fire pit. Make sure to build your fire pit away from any furniture or structures that could be flammable. Electric patio heaters could be a simpler and safer option, but will cost more to run and may not have the same rustic appeal.
