Ingredients You Need to Make Homemade Donuts

  • 1 3/4 C flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 C sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3/4 C buttermilk
  • 3 tbsp unsalted sweet cream butter, melted
  • 1/4 C honey
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp fat-free sour cream
  • doughnut baking pan
  • pam baking spray

Honey Glaze Ingredients

  • 1 C powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • Honey Bee royal icing transfers (Found at hobby lobby)
  • 1 squeeze bottle

How to Make Honey Pot and Bee Themed Donuts

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and spray a doughnut pan with pam baking spray.

In a standing mixer, whisk together the eggs, sugar, buttermilk, sour cream, melted butter, honey, and vanilla until combined and smooth.

In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon and whisk until combined.

Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet and mix until completely combined.

Scoop some batter into the doughnut pan, about 3/4 way full and then bake for 12 minutes.

Remove from oven and allow to cool completely on the counter while you make the glaze.

Glaze Directions:

Using a medium bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, heavy whipping cream, and honey until smooth.

If the batter is thick and clumpy, mix in 2 more tablespoons of heavy whipping cream.

Pour the glaze into a squeeze bottle and remove doughnuts from the baking pan and onto a wire rack with a cookie sheet underneath.

Drizzle the glaze onto the doughnuts and randomly place a bee onto the doughnuts.

Allow glaze to dry for about 10-15 minutes before enjoying!
