After becoming a stay at home mom of three it became very easy to fall into a mommy slump.  The yoga pants everyday, covered in spit up, pee, and who knows what else.  My hair in a permanent messy bun and makeup, why?
Then my oldest became obsessed with taking pictures with his ipod.  I of coarse would go through and delete all the hideous photos of myself when he wasn’t looking, then one day he caught on and asked me where all the pictures had gone.  It was a wake up call, these are my babies memories and I want to be a part of them.  If the dishes have to sit in the dishwasher or the sink for that matter so that I could exercise, take a shower, get out of the flannel pj’s and  maybe even slap on a little makeup, it would be worth it.
As a mom I know how easy it is to make sure the kids and house are clean and look great, while we sit in shambles.  However if we make our own appearance a high priority it effects every other aspect of our day in a positive way.  When I feel beautiful, I am a lot more confident, more motivated, and feel like a much better role model for my daughter.  I want her to see that her mother can take time to invest in herself and also make staying healthy a priority.
What makes you feel Beautiful?  For me its being a mommy my kids can be proud of, and also learning to be comfortable in my own skin.

I totally agree, feeling comfortable in your own skin is the MOST important key to feeling beautiful…followed by a good hair day. 🙂

Amazing post. Its great that you feel good about yourself and that your family helps make that possible. My wife went through a very depressing rut right after my daughter was born but luckily she pulled out of it. Good stuff!

I don't think that kids will love us an more if we wore a full make-up and posh clothing everyday. As long as you yourself feel good in your yoga pants or a Pjs I am sure that's fine for them 🙂

It is important for everyone to be comfortable in their own skin.

The older I get the more comfortable I feel in my own skin. I wish that I felt about myself now when I was a teenager. I would have done things so differently.
