Health and Wellness of Women generations

Caring for the Health and Wellness of Women for Generations!

I grew up like most children, being bathed with the trusted yellow bottle of Johnson’s Baby Shampoo. When I was pregnant with my oldest child, the first thing my grandmother bought me was that same bottle of baby shampoo. I always knew that Johnson & Johnson was a trusted brand throughout generations in my family, like many other families, however, I never knew the story of Johnson & Johnson and how much of an impact they have had on the health and well-being of women for well over a century.

As a society we have come a long way with women’s health and well-being, however, a lot of that began with Johnson & Johnson. From maternity kits, BAND-AID® Brand Adhesive Bandages, and sanitary napkins to providing women a workplace, for over 130 years, Johnson & Johnson has become a trusted brand in so many homes because so many generations have been touched by their products and brand.

My oldest child was born in 2005 and when it was time for me to give birth, I walked into a hospital where I was cared for and monitored by countless nurses and doctors.

You hear stories about women who gave birth over a century ago and the mortality rate, but seeing pictures of women that lived in this time period brings a new reality to it. Realizing my great grandmother and great great grandmother lived in this time period makes it feel so long ago yet so close at the same time. In the 1890’s, Johnson & Johnson created Maternity Kits, which were filled with surgical products and easy to follow instructions to help make childbirth and the first days after delivery safer for both mother and baby. It is scary to think about what it was like to give birth before these Maternity Kits were made available.

Johnson & Johnson not only had a major role in improving women’s health during childbirth, they have also had a hand in improving our wellness during our periods. Today we as women think nothing of walking into our local pharmacy and grabbing a package of pads when that time of the month is approaching. However, prior to 1897 women were forced to find alternative homemade methods to care for the menstrual flow, until Johnson & Johnson mass-produced disposable sanitary napkins.

Johnson & Johnson has spent over a century caring for the health and wellness of women in the United States, however, they didn’t just stop there. Today, Johnson & Johnson continues to work with organizations worldwide to provide women, children, and expectant mothers with the resources they need to live healthy lives.

As women we take on a lot of roles, we care for our husbands, we care for our children, we care for our homes, our friends and family, we care for our careers, and so much more. It’s exciting to learn the history of a brand that has been dedicated to taking care of our health and well-being since the late 1800s! For me, that earns my respect.

Oh wow! I knew Johnson & Johnson had been around for a long time, but I didn’t know that they were actually trailblazers in women’s health. That is so awesome!

Although I don’t have children of my own, I’ve always loved this brand and so have my family! It’s simply one of the best brands out there, especially for the kids and their mothers. I love that it has been their advocacy since the beginning to help women.

I remember being bathed in the big porcelain deep sink in the kitchen with Johnson & Johnson’s yellow bottle right there next to the sink. Okay maybe I do not “remember” it but I have seen the photos lol. I love that they have always been so forward thinking when it comes to women!

I remember growing up with Johnson & Johnson products. I even used them on my kids when they were little. It’s amazing how many memories we have when we use products on our kids that our mothers used with us.

I knew they’d be around for decades, but it’s fun knowing more about the brand’s history. They really have been trusted for generations!

Oh I love Johnson & Johnson and my parents used them on me in the same way I use them on my kids. I love that whilst so much has changed, this hasn’t!

I grew up using their talc powder. It’s what my mom used, then it’s what I used too when my son was a baby. Memories!
