Splash in a Puddle
“April Showers bring May Flowers” so let’s celebrate those gloomy days, knowing the sunshine is right around the corner.  Put on a pair of rain boots and let the kids jump in the biggest puddles they can find.

Plant a Garden
Nothing feels springier than a bright bouquet of flowers.  Enjoy a beautiful spring day outside in the sun planting a pretty flower bed with the kids.  Make it as colorful as possible with a variety of Daisies, Tulips, and Sun Flowers.  

Get Active Outside
After spending the winter cooped up inside, it feels great to be able to get your heart pumping in the fresh air on a sunny day.  Go for walks after dinner, take the kids on a bike ride, or head to the neighborhood playground.

Have a Picnic
Pack up some sandwiches, a blanket, and maybe some bubble or sidewalk chalk and head to the beach or a local park for a picnic.  Eat outside, play, read, just enjoy the slower pace and the fresh air while soaking in some vitamin D.

Get New Clothes
With spring comes spring cleaning, that magical time when we get to open all the windows and let the air in.  When we purge all the things we don’t need any more and get rid of all the clutter in the house.  I love the feeling I get walking into my house during the months of spring.  After spending at least, a week deep cleaning everything, the house feels fresh and welcoming.  
However, with my big annual purge, I end up dropping bags and bags of kid’s clothes for donation.  All the outdated and outgrown clothes go out the door, and all the heavier fall and winter clothes get boxed up till next year.  This can leave the kid’s closets looking bare, so we like to take an annual shopping trip to freshen up their wardrobes.  

We all load into the car and head out for a fun day of shopping.  There is a lot of outdoor shopping centers close to us, and the spring weather makes them perfect.  Not too hot when you are lugging shopping bags around and not too cold when you want to sit in the play area.

The first and most of the time the only store we need is Oshkosh B’gosh.  I remember my mother shopping there when I was a kid, so of course, once I became a mom myself, Oshkosh became my go to store.

They have age appropriate clothes, that are comfortable and come in styles my picky kids love.  Plus it has a huge convenience factor, I can buy all the kids clothes, shoes, and accessories in one spot at affordable prices and a great variety.  I can buy everything I need from dress up outfits for church, to play clothes.

On my last trip to Oshkosh, I bought Lilly and Aidan 2 outfits each.  For the first outfits, I chose bright colored pieces with fun patterns, that screamed spring.

Aidan can’t get enough of this shark shirt.  He has worn it so many times that I haven’t been able to get it back in his closet, he grabs it as soon as he sees it coming out of the dryer.

Lilly loves her “Pink Outfit” because it’s her favorite color and she loves anything bright girly.  I love that Oshkosh’s shorts have a decent inseam, for little girls!  

For the second outfits, I went with more dressy styles.  The kids have a lot of school functions in the spring as well as church on Sunday’s so they always need some nice dress up options.

When I saw the pink boy shorts, I needed them!  They are so cute!  The plaid shirt coordinates perfectly, and the sleeves roll up so he can wear it all year long.

Lilly got a pretty denim colored dress with a rope belt. It coordinates well with Aidan’s outfit and she is always asking to wear dresses, so I liked that this one was casual enough to wear anywhere.
