As a busy mom it can be very hard to stay on a healthy track.  Life can get crazy and everyone depends on you.  However if you make small steps everyday to live a healthier life, it will become easier.

Here are 5 Easy Ways to Stay Healthy:
1.  Get to sleep.  I have found myself up working or cleaning, and then I look at the clock and it’s past midnight.  I immediately stress knowing I have to be up in a few hours, which in turn makes it harder to fall asleep.  Stay on a sleep schedule so that your body can get the rest it needs and you can feel refreshed in the morning.
2. Get active during everyday life.  As a stay at home mom, its easy to end up staying in your sweats or pajamas all day.  No one’s going to see me and I’ll be in the house or mini van all day.  Big mistake!  I find that when I get up and get dressed, even if it is just into a pair of yoga pants and sneakers, I get so much more done and that means I get moving more.  I park far away from stores, take the stairs, dance while I’m cleaning, even have jumping jack and cartwheel contests with the kids.  Just fit in little periods of time to get your heart moving.
3. Drink your water.  This is a struggle for me, I hate water!  Then someone told me your body burns calories just by drinking the right amount of water.  I guess that was motivation enough for me because now I try to get a gallon in a day.  However I still need to infuse it with all sorts of fruits and veggies in-order to get it down.  I like strawberries or cucumber and mint the most.
4.  Find ways to de-stress.  As a mom it is easy to give all of yourself to everyone else.  Your kids always need you, your husband, your family, and your friends need you.  There is always housework to do and errands to run.  However it is so important to find a little bit of time to unwind and de-stress.  Get a massage, take a bath, lock the door and paint your nails, whatever makes you relax.
5.  Snack healthy.  Instead of picking off the kids plates or grabbing a high calorie snack on the run, plan ahead.  Keep healthy snacks that you think are delicious in the house, so you wont be as tempted to eat junk.
