Spring Cleaning Tips For Cleaning The Bathroom

If you are thinking of tackling your home, and getting some spring cleaning done, let me share some tips to get your bathroom looking and smelling fresh!  Spring cleaning is a great way to de-clutter from the year! Get rid of clothes you no longer wear, organize your closets, clean out your medicine cabinets and more.

Today I have partnered with ScriptSave® WellRx to want to focus on cleaning your bathroom top to bottom and saving money when you restock that medicine cabinet! This will leave your bathroom looking fresh and clean and get you set for a whole new year! The bathroom can be one of the dirtiest places in the whole house, so it should be a room you really clean well!

Tackling the Bathroom for Spring Cleaning

Cabinets: Make sure to start with your cabinets. Take out all the items, dust the shelves, and organize your products and such. Great time to check to see if any beauty products are expired and need to be tossed, wash any bedding or towels that haven’t been used in a while.

Medicine Cabinet: If you have a medicine cabinet, make sure to take time to look over all your medicines for any that are outdated and expired. Wipe down your shelves and put your medicines back in the cupboard.

This is a great app or site to use because prescriptions can really add up, so getting great savings is worth trying!

  • Now know, that prescription prices do change daily, and that is why sometimes your medicine might be $35 and other times it is $22. With the ScriptSave WellRx pricing tool, you use it each time you are ready for a prescription and they will help find the best pharmacy to refill.

As many of you know, Aidan has autism spectrum disorder.  There was a point in time when my husband and I had to make the decision to try medication for his hyperactivity and lack of sleep.  We went through several medications untill we found the one that lasted through the school day without causing him any side effects.  The problem was this medication cost over $350!  This was the first medication I searched for with Script Save WellRX, and I can refill it at the same pharmacy we are using for under $200.  That’s a huge savings!
However, that’s not the only prescription we’re saving on.  Between Lilly’s asthma, my husband’s cholesterol problems, and my chronic pain and arthritis, my family fills over ten prescriptions a month, some months it is over 20 prescriptions.  I have searched the prescriptions I will be filling at the end of the month and I can potentially save over $300.  ScriptSave WellRX is going to make my family’s medication costs a lot more manageable, and I am incredibly thankful for that!

Shower: Next you want to move on to spraying down your shower and working on wiping it all down. If you have some soap scum buildup let it sit while you work on the rest of your bathroom.

Counters and Mirrors: Wipe down any counters and mirrors, getting it all nice and clean. I like to make sure my counters are nice and decluttered, maybe add some flowers to freshen it up.

Toilet: Next tackle your toilet, make sure to clean the inside and around the base of the outside. If you have to let it sit for a little bit to work inside the toilet to get rid of any rings.

Floors: Lastly you will want to sweep and mop the flooring. Then you are fully finished with the bathroom!

What to Keep in your Priority Moving Box, Plus my Top Moving Tips! #CleanHomeSavings

This post was sponsored.  All opinions are my own.
Are you planning a move?  We are!  We announced to our family last week that we are are moving down to the Tampa area of Florida!
For the past 5 years or so, my husband and I have debated between moving to South Carolina or Florida, and a couple years ago we took a road trip up and down the east coast and all around Florida, trying to decide on where we wanted to transplant to.  We ended up staying in Massachusetts because I chickened out at the idea of being away from all my family while the kids were so young.  However they have gotten older, and easier, so the move was back on the table.  Then my parents made the sudden decision 6 months ago to make their Florida home, their permanent home.  Suddenly the idea of moving became easier.  My father is home during the day and my mother is working from home so they were able to find us an apartment to transition into and they had already gotten to know the area towns and local establishments.
Plus my brother is only 5 to 6 hours away from Florida in South Carolina, and visits the Tampa area every couple months.  We had been taking a long road trip to South Carolina twice a year over the last few years, so being closer to him is a huge perk.

Getting Things Done with A Faster Smarter Web Browsing App

I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for MoboTap. I received a PayPal incentive to thank me for my participation. All opinions and reviews are my own.
As a busy mom, I am always looking for ways to get things done faster and more conveniently.  Like most moms, one of the ways I get everything accomplished is by doing as many things on the go as possible.  My phone is my life line when it comes to getting things done, I am able to shop, pay bills, work, reschedule appointments, and more right from my phone, whether I’m sitting at dance practice or in at a doctors office.  Because I use my phone for so many aspects of my everyday mommy life, I love finding new apps that help me get things done smoother and faster.

How I am Staying Prepared this Winter While Cutting My Bills!

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of SnowCast for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

Have you ever been blind sided by a snow storm?  I was last week, and it wasn’t fun!
We have decided to go without cable until our move over the summer in an attempt to slim down our bills and avoid getting locked into a 12 month commitment which would result in a hefty cancellation fee when we move out of state.

Over the last month this decision seemed to transition smoothly, with all the great subscription services to choose from we easily cut our bill by over 75%.  However I didn’t think about the weather report while making this change.  I’m a New Englander, I am used to crazy weather.  I can wake up with the heat pumping, switch it over to air conditioning before my coffee is finished and switch it back and forth more times than I can count during the course of a day.  Unfortunately the beginning of this winter had me spoiled.  After last years winter filled with what seemed to be a blizzard every week, I somehow thought we were squeaking by this winter without being snowed in.  It is only February but the 70 degree temperatures left me thinking spring was right around the corner and I had pulled all the kids snow gear out for nothing this year.  Well the joke was on me, because last Thursday night I got a phone call saying schools would be canceled Friday because of the impending storm.  WHAT?  Friday was my planned grocery shopping day, Lilly still needed boots, and I was home alone with 3 kids at 8 o’clock at night!
Now I’m not the crazy person standing in line at the store with bottled water and bread after the thought of a few inches of snow, but being stuck in the house for a couple days with 3 kids and no snacks or hot chocolate sent me into a mini panic attack.  I ended up dragging three kids out to the store, which I always avoid at all costs, and grabbed what we needed to get everyone excited about the snow.

Luckily while stuck in the house during our unplanned snow day, I learned about the SnowCast app.  The SnowCast app is a great app that I quickly downloaded onto my iPhone, it instantly calculated my location, and now is able to tell me when it will snow and how much we will be getting.  I can easily pull up the app and see not only if we will be getting snow, but also how much and when it will start up to 48 hours in advance.  Plus it sends me alerts for NOAA winter weather warnings and advisories, so I will never be blindsided by the lovely New England weather again.
Which was put to the test when mother nature decided to give us a pre winter vacation 4 day weekend, with a second snowstorm on Monday.  Thankfully I knew about the storm as we were digging out from Friday’s storm and was able to run back out for cereal and movies on Sunday while the kids built snowmen with Daddy.

This IOS app cost $2.99 in the app store and the fact that it will save me from unexpectedly having to drag three tired kids shopping the night before a storm again, makes it worth every penny!

Tips for Taking the Stink out of Hosting this Holiday Season ~ Plus a Febreze Kit Giveaway!

This review was made possible by iConnect and Febreze. I was provided compensation to facilitate this post, but all opinions are 100% mine.
The holiday season is the most magical time of year for my family and I.  I love everything about it, trimming the tree, visiting Santa, baking Christmas goodies, visiting traditional events, and of course the parties.  Everyone is always in such a festive mood and it is the time of year when family and friends all take a break from the normal hustle and bustle of life and get together to celebrate.

I host both Thanksgiving and Christmas day dinner at my house, so I know both sides of the holiday party.  The happy, exciting, reminicing with loved ones side.  Then also the hosting side, while I love to cook, decorate, and put on a presentation while hosting, there are also some downfalls that can really stink!  Can you relate?  If so, I have some solutions to share with you from Febreze!

First keep some Febreze Air Effects on hand, with the the festive holiday line you’ll be able to knock out oders while staying in the holiday spirit!

If your making a caserole that doesn’t smell as great cooking as it tastes, or accidently burn something, Air Effects will keep the stink away.
Plus your dishes will likely pile up before your guests leave, spray away any yucky left over smells so that you can continue enjoying your guests without worrying about the stench coming from the sink.
The holidays also means pulling out decorations that have probably been packed away in a box all year.  When I pull out our tree skirt, stockings, and pillows they smell musty.  Febreze Fabric Refresher spray leaves everything smelling delicious in seconds!  I also use it to spray down the couches and of course those sweaters that are all the rage now.  You can only imagine what a Christmas sweater smells like after being in a box from the 80’s, but honestly my Febreze left it smelling like a cranberry drink!
For the bathroom, make sure you light a Febreze candle, it will eliminate the odors that will undoubtably happen as guests rotate through while keeping your home feeling cozy.
Also if you have a particularly stinky area, aka pet bed, liter box, or like me a boys room, use the Febreze Noticeables.  These easy odor eliminators plug in and then you don’t have to worry about them again for up to 45 days.  These are perfect for keeping odors away during the busy holiday season!
There you have it, Febreze can keep all the stinks away this holiday season.  So once you have your Febreze products on hand, grab a cocktail and enjoy all the festivities!
Now for the fun part, lets get to the Giveaway!
Enter to win a Febreze Kit
Which contains Febreze product, mittens, pug coasters, Moscow Mule mugs, and a serving basket.
