Just when I thought my love for American girl couldn’t grow any stronger, they came out with a new doll line called the Wellie Wishers!

The Wellie Wishers are 5 sweet and silly girls who have the same big bright wish to be a good friend. These adorable dolls have a full line of products to help little girls explore Wellie Wisher’s world. They can step into colorful garden boots to match their Wellie Wishers doll, while they read about stomping in mud puddles, putting on shows, and helping friendships grow.

These are the perfect dolls for children that are transitioning out of the toddlers days of bitty babies and bitty twins, however, are not quite old enough for the original American girl dolls.
Wellie Wishers are geared towards 5 to 7-year-olds.

The most fun part of the American Girl Brand is that they always aim to make the dolls relate-able to children and the Wellie Wishers line is no different.
The Wellie Wishers have their own rain boot, clothing and sock line so that little girls can look just like there new doll. Plus the Wellie Wishers product line is absolutely adorable from the Wellie Wishers Play House and Garden Theater Stage to the Make-It-Great playset featuring tiny tools accessories.

As you may know, Lilly and I are obsessed with American girl! We love having a “girl’s day out” eating lunch at the American Girl Bistro in Natick and getting one of the doll’s hair done. We have created amazing mother/daughter memories while having fun exploring the store, reading the books, and watching the movies.

So when American Girl offered to send us a Wellie Wisher to review, I couldn’t wait! I didn’t tell Lilly until the box arrived, she just turned seven so I was curious what her reaction would be to this beautiful little doll.

We received Camille in the mail while she was out one afternoon, and when Lilly got home and saw her on the table her face lit up and she was giddy all day.

It has been a few weeks now and I am happy to say Lilly is still obsessed with her Wellie Wisher doll. Camille has taken over a spot in Lilly’s doll carrier and is now the doll she chose to keep close by on our road trip next week. Lilly loves the garden boots and the mermaid theme of Camille’s outfit, and can’t wait to visit our local American Girl Doll Store so that we can meet all the other Wellie Wishers and find some adorable garden boots of her very own.

American Girl also sent us the Wellie Wishers books which are perfect for little girls with colorful artwork and illustrations and whimsical stories. The font on these books is also easy to read and perfect for children that are beginning to read on their own.

Best of all the Wellie Wishers are set at a great price point! When Lilly originally outgrew the bitty baby age group, she wanted an American Girl Doll desperately. she still plays with her twins and the baby doll but not nearly as much as her American Girl Doll’s. She likes the stories, the movies, and the real-life play sets much more than the baby doll stuff. However, when she was growing out of the baby doll age which was at about 5 years old, I was a bit nervous to start shelling out the $115 that the American Girl Dolls cost.

Luckily Lilly has always taken very good care of her American Girl Doll’s, with the minor exception of Isabel getting a small part of her hair cut.
Now the Wellie Wishers make the perfect transitional doll and are the same price as the bitty babies at $60. Plus the accessories and clothing are also affordable with the playsets averaging around $24.
