3 Amazingly Easy Chocolate Bomb Recipes You Need to Make

Do your kids love hot chocolate? Most of them do!

And while it can be easy to simply pick hot chocolate off a shelf in a supermarket, it can be a lot of fun for kids and their parents to experiment with different ways to make hot chocolate in their own homes. 

In the last few years, chocolate bombs have become extremely popular to gift and make. And as their construction is straightforward (and tasty!), this can be a great way to add some fun and make hot chocolate with your children.

So, here are three easy chocolate bomb recipes to replicate at home. 

Hot Cocoa Bombs

The simplest of all hot chocolate bombs to make is a hot cocoa bomb. So, follow this recipe to get a tasty cup of hot chocolate!

What You Need to Make a Hot Cocoa Bomb

  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup hot cocoa mix
  • 1/2 cup mini marshmallows

How to Make a Hot Cocoa Chocolate Bomb

  1. Melt chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl or double boiler.
  2. Use a spoon to coat the inside of a silicone half-sphere mold with the melted chocolate.
  3. Chill in the fridge for 10 minutes.
  4. Remove the chocolate shells from the mold and fill half of them with hot cocoa mix and mini marshmallows.
  5. Melt more chocolate and use it to seal the two halves of the bombs together.
  6. Chill in the fridge for 10 more minutes.
  7. When ready to use, place a bomb in a mug and pour in the hot milk. Stir until dissolved.

Top Tip: This cocoa bomb works great with whipped cream added once it has dissolved!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Chocolate Bombs

Want to add some saltiness to your chocolate bomb? Why not add some peanuts?

What You Will Need to Make Chocolate Peanut Butter Bombs

  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Crushed peanuts (optional)

How to Make the Hot Chocolate Bombs

  1. Melt chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl or double boiler.
  2. Use a spoon to coat the inside of a silicone half-sphere mold with the melted chocolate.
  3. Chill in the fridge for 10 minutes.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix together peanut butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
  5. Fill each chocolate shell with the peanut butter mixture, leaving some space at the top for the chocolate to seal.
  6. Melt more chocolate and use it to seal the two halves of the bombs together.
  7. Chill in the fridge for 10 more minutes.
  8. When ready to serve, sprinkle crushed peanuts on top.

Top Tip: Add a drizzle of caramel over the crushed peanuts to add to the sweetness!

Caramel Chocolate Bomb

  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • Sea salt for sprinkling (optional)

How to Make a Caramel Chocolate Bomb

  1. Melt chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl or double boiler.
  2. Use a spoon to coat the inside of a silicone half-sphere mold with the melted chocolate.
  3. Chill in the fridge for 10 minutes.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix together caramel sauce and heavy cream until well combined.
  5. Fill each chocolate shell with the caramel mixture, leaving some space at the top for the chocolate to seal.
  6. Melt more chocolate and use it to seal the two halves of the bombs together.
  7. Chill in the fridge for 10 more minutes.
  8. When ready to serve, why not sprinkle a little sea salt on top?
