I am very excited to announce that I am a Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk ambassador this year.  We all have some connection to cancer, its such a horrible and heartbreaking disease that picks its victims blindly.  Whether you’ve battles cancer yourself or have watched helplessly as a loved one has, cancer is a presence we cant ignore.  It requires extensive treatment, research, and support.  Which is why the Jimmy Fund Walk supports which supports the Dana-Farber Cancer Center is so important.  So lace up your sneakers and lets take these steps together towards a cancer free world by participating in the 2015 Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk!

Cancer has found it’s way into my family too many times.  My mother fought breast cancer, my father had kidney cancer, my aunt passed away from leukemia, and my uncle had liver cancer.  We also lost my husbands niece to breast cancer a few years ago, she was a young mother of two.  Cancer hits families hard and leaves a devastating path in its wake.

Now with social media everywhere and my circle of friends growing larger, I continuously hear stories of children fighting cancer.  Childhood cancer has to be the most heartbreaking journey to watch.  As a mother it is the worst image to think about, and my heart goes out to any mother facing such an unthinkable journey.

Choose from four walking routes:
Hopkinton – 26.2 Miles
Wellesley – 13.1 Miles
Boston College – 5 Miles
Dana-Farber – 3 Miles

I’ve chose to walk the 13.1 Mile Wellesley path and have started my morning walks back up in hopes of getting in better shape to push myself through the 13+ miles.

All 4 routes finish at the Copley Square finish area in Boston, where walkers will get to enjoy live music and food.
