Dave and Buster’s is Opening in Woburn!

Dave and Buster’s is opening in Woburn, Massachusetts on Tuesday May 26th and I was very excited to go to their press event last week!  I have never been to a Dave and Buster’s before and have always contemplated taking the hour plus ride to the one that was closest to us prior to this opening, unfortunately I was never able to get there.  Which had me enthusiastically waiting for this opening!

I had no idea what to expect walking through the Dave and Buster’s doors,  I’ve seen the commercials of course so I imagined  a bar with some arcade games.  Boy was I underestimating this restaurant, it has so much more, and so much more fun than that!

Yes they have the sports bar side, but its not just your average sports bar.  The walls are lined with television screens of all sizes.  If you cant go to an actual game, Dave and Buster’s offers you the next best thing!

They also have a quieter restaurant area, which is perfect for sitting down for lunch or dinner.  It’s quieter and brighter than the sports area.  It would be a perfect place to eat as a family.

Additionally, Dave and Buster’s will have 4 private function areas.  Perfect for corporate events and parties.
Now lets talk food, and drinks too!  I was floored by the selection and quality of the food offered at Dave and Buster’s!  This isn’t your typical arcade type fast food.  Dave and Buster’s does an amazing job of taking some sports bar classic like burgers and chips and puts a deliciously artistic twist on them!  Think pretzel dogs, a burger lineup, fresh potato chips, and some of the best wings around!  Make sure you go hungry, and then save room for dessert.  While everything was delicious, my absolute favorite item in this buffet was the bananas foster pie.
The dessert selections can satisfy anyone’s sweet tooth!
As for cocktails, they have some of the most creative cocktails I’ve ever seen!  I tried the original snow cone.  It tastes exactly like a snow cone you would buy at the beach!  It was so yummy, I cant wait to try the other flavors on our next date night.
The food is delicious, the drinks are awesome, and they have a great atmosphere for both eating and watching the game.  However the part of Dave and Buster’s that brings this establishment to a whole other level than your average sports bar or restaurant, The play area!
At Dave and Buster’s you have to Eat, Drink and Play!

These games are insane!  They have over 170 games and these are not your average arcade games, they are bigger, brighter, and a lot more fun.  They have classic games like skee-ball and air hockey, along with more unique games like candy-crush.
My favorite game was the Bumble Bee Transformers game.  Not only does it look incredibly cool, It’s also so much fun!
Antonio was hooked on The Big One, Its a jumbo sized claw game!  His obsession paid off, he won 2 balls and a stuffed animal to bring home for the kiddos!
After you’ve played to your hearts content, its time to cash in all your tickets!  However this is not your usual arcade stand with a bunch of mini plastic things that fall apart before you hit the parking lot.
At Dave and Buster’s the kids can win toys and stuffed animals, and the adults can win electronics, video games, and so much more.
I’m so happy Dave and Buster’s has opened close by and I cant wait to take Anthony next time.
This is a perfect option for a family afternoon out or a fun date night with the hubby!

The Butterfly Place in Westford, Ma

Lilly recently had a couple doctors appointments in the morning so we decided once they were finished to play hooky for the rest of the day and have some quality girl time.

We went to lunch, did some shopping, and then took a trip to The Butterfly Place in Westford, Ma.  We had never been before, however I saw an awesome deal on Groupon and decided to check it out, especially because Lilly has been obsessing over flowers, butterflies, and birds recently.

The Groupon we bought included admission for 2 people for $15.  Which was a perfect price for a quick and educational outing.
The regular admission price is $12.50 for adults and $8.50 for children, which I think is pretty steep for such a small exhibit.  However they do offer numerous special offers including homeschoolers discounts, scout discounts, and veterans discounts.
The Butterfly Place is located at 120 Tyngsboro Road, in Westford Massachusetts.  It was really easy to find, with numerous signs pointing people in the right direction.

As you walk in there is an adorable butterfly photo prop that Lilly jumped into without prompting.  As I said she’s obsessing over butterflies right now.
After we took a picture outside, we went in to see all the butterflies.
After you pay for admission, you go through several doors into the butterfly flight area.  This area is filled with plants, flowers, and hundreds of free flying butterflies.
The butterflies fly all over the place landing on the benches, flowers, and if your as lucky as Lilly they land right on your shoulder.
We walked around the exhibit several times and spent about an hour checking out all the butterflies and flowers.  Lilly got a chart on the way in for $1.00 and tried matching the different types of butterflies, her favorite was the spotted lady butterfly.
The Butterfly Place is open from February to October.
The greenhouse type area where the butterflies free fly is kept constantly between 80 – 85 degrees, because butterflies need warmth to fly.  So if you visit during a colder month make sure you dress accordingly so that you can comfortably enjoy your visit.

After leaving the butterfly flying exhibit, we passed through a small room that had a movie playing that talked about stages of a butterflies transformation and gave some other fun facts.  Then we walked into a hallway area with some more displays with educational information about different types of butterflies.  Lastly we walked through the gift shop on the way out, I was pleasantly surprised that everything in the gift shop was fairly priced.  Lilly got a butterfly bottle of bubbles and a temporary tattoo for $3.50.  We also got a hatching kit, which included a caterpillar, food, and a container to watch it transform into a cocoon and then into a butterfly, so we can let it loose.  Lilly has been checking on her caterpillar everyday and has been learning a lot and loving the experience.
