What I Love This Week: Paul Mitchell “the conditioner”

What am I loving this week?
Paul Mitchell’s “The Conditioner” Leave in Conditioner
Lilly’s Curly Hair Magic Cream!!!
Lilly’s hair is CURLY, she gets the massive curls from her Brazilian daddy, and I have no idea how to manage them!
I have tried so many products.  All the little kids sprays did nothing, the oily serums I use for frizz weighed her hair down to much because its so fine.  I use the Jergens shampoo for curly hair twice a week and condition it every time she takes a bath but her hair would still be a matted mess of knots.  Combing it out was a horror show, with her held down between my legs as I tried to get through the knots.
I took her for a hair cut the other day after school and her hair was its usual knotty mess.  I apologized over and over again as the hairdresser tried to pull through it.  I explained how it only took her wearing it down for minutes to become this way.
On the way out she showed me this bottle of leave in conditioner, telling me how amazing it was.  I grabbed it with low expectations but at my wits end.
We call it the Magic Cream!
I use a little over a quarter size dollop after her bath and rub it through sections of hair and now the comb literally slides right through her hair!  If she has a really nasty knot, I’ll add some more directly to that spot and pick at it for a second and it unravels so easily.
It was worth every penny!
oh and you can use it to shave your legs in a pinch and as a hand moisturizer according to the back of the bottle.

Super Cute Trend: Maxi Skirts

Family Binder

With so much going on in this household, I knew I needed a way to get us all organized together in one location and this binder is the best time saver I’ve found. I haven’t had to search for papers or rush around worrying about a forgotten bill or errand since I put this together.

I got this pretty teal binder from staples along with the stick on label, they were part of the Martha Stewart collection.

This folder in the front pocket holds all my coupons and flyer’s I need for my next shopping trip

Then I have a bunch of lines paper with tear sided for notes, these were also part of the Martha Stewart collection.

Then starts the dividers and page protectors:
I have a home section
For all the house hold papers I need at my fingertips for the month, bills for the month, church stuff, warranty paperwork I’m filing on, exc.

Then each family member has a section.  I keep doctor order/referrals, the kids IEP’s, Advocate phone numbers, Lillys asthma plan, My bible study plan, Things I want to call teachers about, exc.

Then in the back pocket I have some cute post its and a pink pen
I used to have a pile of papers and would have to sort out everything each time I needed one thing.  Now I turn to a section, grab it, and I’m set.

At the end of each month I clean it out, file what needs to be filed in the filing cabinet and throw out what is done.

Target Bargain: CHI Hair Straightener

While perusing the clearance section of Target Yesterday, I came across this mega deal!
If you use CHI products, you know there straighteners retail for over $100.  I got my first CHI about 10 years ago as a birthday gift after complaining non stop about how I couldn’t find a straight iron that would straighten my hair without leaving it a frizzy mess.
I have been hooked ever sense!  They leave my hair silky smooth with one swipe and they last a really long time (I would be replacing my drug store brands every couple months, these last years)
However with the price tag attached to them, I usually search ebay or wait for a holiday that I can ask for one from the hubby.
However as I was putting through Target yesterday, I thought I’d go down the back of the isles to get to the registers…. Where they put all the departments clearance.  As I walked closer to the pile of boxes that clearly had “CHI” across them, I thought for sure they were placed there by mistake.  Then I saw the clearance stickers!!! $29.98!!!
I threw it in the cart and walked swiftly to the price scanner, still not believing the price.  It was right!
Target right now has these amazing straighteners marked down from $99.99 to $29.98…. a savings of $70.01
